Kadai  paneer  is a popular Indian dish that is

 made by cooking paneer (Indian cottage cheese)

 in a spicy tomato-based gravy along with bell

 peppers and a variety of Indian spices. Here is a

 simple recipe for making kadai paneer:


Ingredients:

- 250 grams paneer, cubed

- 2 medium-sized onions, chopped

- 2 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped

- 1 green bell pepper, chopped

- 1 red bell pepper, chopped

- 2-3 green chillies, slit lengthwise

- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 teaspoon coriander powder

- 1 teaspoon garam masala

- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder

- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1 teaspoon kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)

- 2 tablespoons oil

- Salt to taste

- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing


Instructions:


1. Heat oil in a kadhai or a wok on medium heat.

2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

3. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

4. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.

5. Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies and cook until they turn soft and mushy.

6. Add coriander powder, garam masala, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

7. Add chopped bell peppers and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

8. Add cubed paneer and salt. Mix everything gently and cook for 3-4 minutes.

9. Crush kasuri methi in between your palms and add it to the kadai. Mix well.

10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
